The popular European Night Market returns this winter, taking over Madame Brussels Lane every Friday in July with culinary delights, spectacular sights and of course, cosy Melbourne nights with a splendid European twist.
The mini European festival will pay homage to the renowned winter markets of Germany, France, Spain and Italy complete with all the bells and whistles that you would expect to find wandering around the laneways of your favourite European city.
Transport yourself to the finest European hotspots and start your evening with German sausages, French cheese, Bavarian Bretzels and Turkish dips, followed by sweet treats such as filled doughnuts, cannoli, crepes, macarons.
Be entertained by local laneway retailers, keeping their doors open until late for the special events – you can even get your hair cut at the barber-shop or pick up a scarf from Spoilt to keep your ears warm. A special laneway light display created by Electric Confetti and local artist Carla O’Brien will add to your feast for the senses.
Come for the cauldrons of mulled wine and piping cups of hot spiced rum, stay for the tremendous tunes from some of Melbourne’s best and tell your friends to return the following week to take part in the glorious European vision that awaits.
Featuring treats from Café Babbo, Eat Cannoli, Pop Up Crepe, Degani, Frencheese, Bavarian Bangers, Bretzel Biz and music from the laneway’s own Cobbler DJ (from The Cobbler’s Last) who will be spinning decks and shining shoes late into the night, this is an event not to be missed this winter.
The European Night Market returns to Madame Brussels Lane every Friday in July from 5pm to 9pm.
