The HotHouse team jetted off to sunny Sydney for the Dog Lovers Show, August 4 + 5 at Hordern Pavillion and Royal Hall of Industries earlier this month.
Considering the overload of cute, cuddly canines of all shapes and sizes in attendance, it came as no surprise that the weekend attracted record crowds, just shy of 30,000. The hugely paw-pular event welcomed some brand-new crowd favourites, from the inaugural Common Woof Games (complete with a puppy run and miniature dog hurdles), to the first ever sheep herding trials, presented by dog rescue group AWDRI.

The Today Show were on site, keen to lap up the action, and the fur was flying as dogs raced, leapt and even skateboarded in the Royal Canine Arena.

Visitors stuck it out in the splash-zone of DockDogs, drenched from nose to tail, cheering on some of Australia’s highest flying pooches as they leapt over 6ft vertically and strived to smash international records.
The Show maintained its commitment to helping shelter pups find new fur-ever homes, while celebrity vets Dr Chris Brown and Dr Katrina Warren imparted some doggie wisdom on eager paw-rents.
The media and Rove McManus were eager to chat with the stars of the Insta-Pooch Zone, some with over 110,000 followers on Instagram, and the charisma to match.
The HotHouse team can’t wait to trek to Brisbane in November for the next Dog Lovers Show, and feline fanatics won’t be forgotten as the first ever Cat Lovers Show debuts in Melbourne this spring at the Royal Exhibition Building September 8 + 9.
