Over 20,000 kitty-crazed Melbournians slinked their way into the Royal Exhibition Building, September 8 and 9, for Australia’s first-ever Cat Lovers Show!
The sold-out event was a spectacu-fur success with 40% more visitors than the inaugural Dog Lovers Show back in 2013. The dates for 2019 have already been locked and loaded (November 30 – December 1) with the Show expected to double in size.
Allan Raskall and Nine News Melbourne popped down for an exclusive preview prior to the event to dip their paws into the weekend’s agenda. Alan didn’t shy away from a claw pampering, face painting and plenty of kitten pets!

Dr Katrina Warren spoke with Weekend Today on opening morning to give cat coveters a taste of what the weekend had to offer:

Feline fanatics enjoyed getting up close and paw-sonal at the Pidan Pat-A-Cat Zone and witnessing incredible paw-formances from skateboarding cat duo ‘Didga’ and ‘Boomer’ alongside their trainer, Robert Dollwet a.k.a CATMANTOO.
The kitty-crazed trio gave Weekend Sunrise a sneak peek of their Show performance including a live skateboarding demonstration and kitty hi-5s!
Visitors sipped bubbly at the Herald Sun Purrfect Paws & Prosecco Parlour whilst being pampered by the most claw-tastic nail art from Clara H Nails – Katy Perry and Serena Williams’ go-to nail artist in Melbourne.
