On Sunday 7 October, more than 11,000 super-humans zoomed into Sydney Olympic Park to take part in The Color Run Hero Tour.
Sydneysiders took part in a super-charged warm-up led by MOJO Beverages ambassador and champion sprinter, Katie Williams, before being doused from head-to-toe in thousands of colour combinations completing the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet™’
Katie joined photographer Sam Ruttyn from The Daily Telegraph ahead of the event for a fun-filled shoot as heroic half sprinter, half Color Runner.
Participants faced super-sized Color Zones, walked on clouds in the Foam Zone and took home a limited participant pack featuring a unicorn hero medal.
New presenting partner 7-Eleven shouted free Slurpees at the finish line and extended event hours provided an all-mighty Finish Festival that saw Color Runners dancing up a storm to the ultimate party tunes under a sea of colour.
2018 was the first year The Color Run Australia had an official charity partner; the Starlight Children’s Foundation, committed to bringing fun, joy and laughter to sick kids and their families all over Australia. The event encouraged participants to raise funds for the incredible charity with a range of volunteers, activations and donation points onsite.
With no winners or official finish times The Color Run is perfect event for everyone, from beginners to seasoned athletes. The Color Run Hero Tour successfully celebrated the heroes of Sydney, welcoming those running for and alongside their own personal champions; including the Rigoli family, of Toongabbie.
The Color Run Hero Tour zooms into Langley Park in Perth this weekend, Sunday 4 November, before its final stop of the series in Melbourne on Sunday 25 November.
National 2019 dates to be announced soon!
